Cruise ship to recruit workers in Pangasinan

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan -- Representatives of the world’s second largest cruise ship, the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, will be in Pangasinan October 13-14 to recruit workers.

The two-day recruitment will be undertaken by RCCL Crew Management Inc. at the Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) located at the Capitol Complex, Lingayen.

PESO Chief Alex F. Ferrer said recruitment of ship crew will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on October 13 and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon the next day.

Executives of RCCL were in Pangasinan two days ago to arrange the recruitment activity with Governor Amado Espino III and PESO.

Ferrer said the company is looking for people for the following positions: Culinary -- baker, butcher, Chef De Partie-Baker, Chef De Partie-Butcher, Chef De Partie-Garde Manger, Chef De Partie-Suchie, Commis 1, Head Baker, Pastry Sous Chef, Sushi Cook, Pantry Chef, Pantry Cook and Pastry Cook.

It also needs a lifeguard and a laundry attendant for housekeeping.

For inventory, the company needs assistant hotel, hotel storekeeper, provision storekeeper and technical storekeeper.

The marine positions include: a 3rd assistant repairman, artistic painter, assistant electrician, assistant refrigerator engineer, filter engine, filter repairman, filter turner, incinerator operator, mechanic, motorman, plumber, repairman, upholster, varnisher and wiper.

Ferrer said applicants without passport may also apply. (PNA)
