DOST Region 2 to host 2017 National Inventors Week

ECHAGUE, Isabela – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Region 2 will be hosting this year's celebration of National Inventors Week.
 
Angel Gorospen of DOST Provincial Science and Technology Center based in this town said it will be the first time that DOST Cagayan Valley will be hosting the activity, which is usually held in Metro Manila.
 
Gorospe said the activity will be conducted on November 20-24, 2017 in Cauayan City, Isabela aimed at showcasing Filipino inventions from various parts of the country.
 
She said a series of symposia will also be conducted as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information, including the facilitation of market opportunities to encourage the generation, promotion, and development of Filipino inventive capabilities.
 
 
The National Inventors Week celebration is conducted pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 285 series of 1993, declaring the 3rd week of November as National Inventors Week.
 
"All government agencies and offices, as well as business, commerce, agriculture, and industry sectors and non-government organizations, are enjoined to extend every possible support, assistance, and cooperation in making the celebration of the 'National Inventors Weeks' a success," the department said.
 
DOST Region 2 is confident that this year's National Inventors Week will be successfully and peacefully celebrated with the cooperation of various sectors in the region. (PNA)
