Palarong Panlalawigan 2017 kicks off in Palawan

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan -- An estimated 6,358 sports officials and athletes are taking part in the “Palarong Panlalawigan 2017” that opened recently in the southern Palawan municipality of Brooke’s Point.

Provincial Information Officer Gil Acosta Jr. said Wednesday afternoon that the annual sports competition opened on November 26 and would last until December 1.

The province’s 23 municipalities sent delegates to the sports meet with the town of Quezon, also in the southern part, having the most number of athletes and sports official at 500.

He said winners in the annual provincial meet would be sent to the MIMAROPA Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM) in San Jose, Mindoro in March 2018.

They will also have the chance to represent the province in Palarong Pambansa in April 2018 in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
