MANILA -- The hashtag, #PlayLouderIn2023, of the Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan’s joint bid to host the 2023 FIBA World Cup trended on Twitter on Friday, a day before the FIBA Central Board announces the winner of the hosting of the tournament.

The hashtag peaked at number two in the top trending topics in the Philippines on social media and is expected to hit the worldwide ranks on Saturday, judgment day itself.

Even pro volleyball league PSL joined the tweet brigade as its Twitter team called out its fans to state the reasons why the three nations should host the FIBA World Cup.

The Asian bid is one of the two finalists for the right to succeed China as host, the other being another joint bid by South American nations Argentina and Uruguay.

The FIBA Central Board will convene at 5:30 p.m. Saturday (Philippine time) at the organization's headquarters in Mies, Switzerland to hear the final pitches of the Asian and the South American bids.

By 8 p.m. (Philippine time), the board will officially name the hosts for the 2023 games. (PNA)
