MANILA -- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) reported Friday several transmission lines were affected by tropical storm “Vinta.”

In the Visayas region, the 69-kilovolt (kV) Paranas-Quinapondan line failed as of 10:49 p.m. on Thursday, resulting in a power interruption of the Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative (ESAMELCO).

In the Mindanao region, the San Francisco-Tandag 69kV line servicing the Surigao del Sur Electric Cooperative (SURSECO) and the Bisig-Cateel 69kV line servicing the Davao Oriental Electric Cooperative (DORECO) were also affected.

Meanwhile, the Jasaan-Quinofuitan 69kV line servicing the Camiguin Electric Cooperative (CAMELCO) and MORESCO II, which failed at around 4 a.m. on Friday, has been partially restored at 5:23 a.m.

Other NGCP lines, including the Balo-Marawi 69kV servicing LASURECO, Agus6-Causwagan 69kV servicing LANECO, and Agus 6-Mapalad 69kV line servicing ILPI, have yet to be restored.

The NGCP said repairs would begin as soon as weather conditions improve. (PNA)
