MANILA -- A mass exodus among the participating teams in the Dota 2 tournament Galaxy Battles 2 ensued.

Reeling from the revocation of its Major status and Virtus Pro's departure, five more teams that are part of the main draw and one of the competing teams in the wildcard phase have bid adieu as well.

Reigning The International 8 champion Liquid was the first among the six to back out, while Secret, Optic, Newbee, and Mineski followed suit with the latter two formally announcing their decision to withdraw on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Kinguin, one of the four teams that will be part of the wildcard playoffs, also made its intent of backing out through its team manager Michal Jackowski in a Twitter post.

The said clubs cited the "de-Majoring" of Galaxy Battles as their reason to withdraw their participation.

The Dota tournament had its status revoked by Valve due to strict government regulations by the Games and Amusement Board.
