MANILA -- The second Allianz National Youth Futsal Invitational (ANYFI) is officially on.

Allianz PNB Life Insurance Incorporated, in partnership with Henry V. Moran Foundation and in coordination with the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), announced this during a press conference at the Century Park Hotel in Manila on Wednesday, April 25.

The ANYFI provides a venue for young Filipinos to showcase their talents and skills in football.

Young girls who share the same passion are also encouraged to join the event, where they will be vying for three slots for the Allianz Junior Football Camp in Thailand in July. Five male footballers will also be chosen from the tournament series.

Featuring U-12, U-14 and U-16 age brackets for both boys and girls, the ANYFI kicks off with the local eliminations from April 27-May 13 in nine areas namely Iloilo, Dipolog, Cebu, Baguio, Naga, Metro Manila, Davao, Cagayan De Oro, and Bacolod.

“It wasn’t just for kids playing futsal here in Metro Manila, but it is something that we wanted to be national,” Danny Moran, chairman of the Henry V. Moran Foundation, said.

The top teams in the qualifiers will progress into the regional finals from May 19-May 27.

The champions in each regional meet will be competing with each other in the national finals scheduled on June 2 and 3 in Santa Cruz, Laguna. (Kate Azotea and Norelyn Mirabona, OJT/PNA)
