LINGAYEN, Pangasinan -- More government employees, public school teachers and families residing in danger zones can soon avail of the housing projects being offered by the provincial government.
Engr. Alvin Bigay, Provincial Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council Officer, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Friday that the socialized housing project located on a 1.8 hectare land in Barangay Maniboc has a total funding of PHP16 million for the land development alone from the National Housing Authority (NHA).
Bigay said a total of 129 housing units at 90 square meters per lot will be constructed with PAGIBIG Fund.
“The house will be a single attached type with a floor area of 32 square meters. House and lot package is PHP450, 000,” Bigay said, as he added that priority beneficiaries are provincial government employees, public school teachers among others.
The phase I of this project with 257 housing units have already been awarded to qualified government employees.
Meanwhile, the resettlement project at Aplaya West Resettlement Project in Barangay Pangapisan Norte has a land area of 2.4 hectares, where 317 row-house type housing units will be built with an area of 25 square meters each, said Bigay.
He added that the resettlement area has been allotted for the families residing in danger zones, like river banks and shorelines.
The land development for this project has been funded by NHA with PHP12 million budget.
“This is in time as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources have been addressing the issue on illegal settlement in danger zones. This is the provincial government’s part to address the problem,” he said. (PNA)
