ZAMBOANGA CITY--The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Monday said that 11,532 local and overseas job vacancies are up for grabs during Independence Day's “Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan (job, business and livelihood)” fair in this city.

DOLE Regional Director Ofelia Domingo said the TNK is part of the activity of the agency here in the commemoration of the 120th Independence Day.

This year’s celebration of Independence Day is anchored on the theme “Kalayaan 2018 Pagbabagong Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan.”

Domingo said it will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the East Wing Activity Center of KCC Mall de Zamboanga here.

He advised jobseekers to participate in the job and business fair for more chances of being hired, since 21 employers will be offering 11, 532 job vacancies both for local and overseas posts.

“The number is yet to increase as more job vacancies are submitted to DOLE,” she added.

She said those who have already registered online during the Labor Day Jobs Fair need not register again since their data is already stored in the system, thus, reducing the waiting time on manual registration.

“Job seekers can also check our Facebook Page – DOLE Zampen Region where they can find the participating employers and available jobs so they can better prepare for the job fair,” she said.

For more chances of being hired on the spot, she also reminds jobseekers to prepare the following application documents: resume or curriculum vitae in multiple copies; 2x2 ID pictures; certificates of employment for those who were previously employed; diploma and/or transcript of records; and, an authenticated birth certificate.

She also advised the applicants to wear appropriate attire for the interview to appear presentable to employers.

The TNK is a joint undertaking of DOLE and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), which aims to bring jobs and livelihood opportunities to communities. (PNA)
