MANILA -- Expect more rains in the huge part of Luzon due to the southwest monsoon (habagat) on Thursday, according to the Philippine, Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said monsoon rains will be experienced in the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative region, Batanes, Babuyan group of islands, Cavite, Batangas, Bataan, Zambales and Metro Manila.

The state weather agency also cautioned residents of these areas against possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to occasional heavy rains.

PAGASA weather specialist Gener Quitlong said a yellow rainfall warning is hoisted over Zambales at 5 p.m. It means the area has already reached a rainfall of 7.5-15 mm/hour.

Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan region), other parts of Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon region) will also have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms caused by local thunderstorms.

The northern, western and southern section of Luzon and the eastern section of northern and central Luzon will experience rough to very rough coastal waters due to strong to gale force winds.

Other areas will have moderate to rough coastal waters brought by moderate to strong winds.

The state weather bureau also forecasts a temperature range of 16-34 degrees Celsius until Sunday.

On Wednesday, PAGASA recorded a maximum temperature of 26.6 degree Celsius and a minimal temperature of 24.2 degree Celsius at the PAGASA weather station in Quezon City. (PNA)
