DTI sets conference for MSMEs in Region 9

ZAMBOANGA CITY--The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has set a one-day conference for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Region 9.

Lowell Vallecer, DTI regional MSME development division chief, on Friday said the conference will be held on July 25 at the Zamboanga del Norte Convention and Exhibition Center in Dipolog City.

Vallecer said among the issues and concerns they will discuss are the following: challenges confronting the Zamboanga Peninsula MSMEs; strengthening MSME disaster resilience; public private partnership; technology and innovation; and, the “Pondo sa Pagbabago at Pag-Asenso (P3).”

Vallecer said the conference is aimed at teaching MSMEs not only to be innovative but also to be resilient.

“In cases of calamities, they must know what to do and to rise as soon as possible,” he added.

He said some 600 MSMEs are expected to attend the one-day event, which is anchored on the theme “enhancing innovative and resilient MSMEs.”

He said DTI Assistant Secretary Blesila Lantayona Zamboanga Peninsula Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Regional Government Paulino Gudmalin are set to grace the activity. (PNA)
