ILOILO CITY -- The city government here is ready to respond to complaints and other concerns of the residents through its quick response team that will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

On Monday, Mayor Jose Espinosa said he will soon sign the executive order creating the quick response team. After the flag-raising ceremony held at the Plaza Libertad, city hall employees witnessed the blessing of two quick response patrol vehicles to be utilized for the program.

Espinosa said when the other city hall departments are no longer operational after office hours, the quick response team will be there to respond to such cases as traffic violations.

Also, if there are immediate concerns that city residents would like to bring to the attention of the city government,  the team will be there, he added.

Initially, Jeck Conlu of the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) and Roberto Domanil of the Task Force Anti-Squatting and Illegal Structure (ASIS) will head the composite team.

There will also be representatives from the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), City Health Office (CHO) and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

“Probably, we will be the first local government unit to have this 24-hour quick response team to show to everyone that the city government operates 24/7,” Espinosa said. (PNA)
