Drug suspect nabbed, P680K 'shabu' seized in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY -- Government operatives seized on Wednesday morning PHP680,000 worth of suspected shabu from an illegal drug courier in an operation in Daraga town, Albay province.

Jed Lolo, 35, married, of Barangay Sagpon also in Daraga, was collared by joint elements of Daraga police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bicol in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Binitayan, a police report said, quoting Chief Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) spokesperson.

Seized from the suspect was a plastic sachet containing 100 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of PHP680,000, the report added.

Cotton Talento, PDEA-Bicol spokesperson, in an interview, said the suspect is in the PDEA watch list as a high-value target (HVT), being a drug courier operating in the town of Daraga and this city.

The suspect delivered the illegal drugs to an undercover agent posing as buyer in front of a barangay hall in Purok 3 in said village around 3:30 a.m., Talento said.

The suspect is now detained at the PDEA detention facility here. (PNA)
