CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan -- Two drug suspects were killed while 15 others were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Bulacan police on Tuesday.

Colonel Chito Bersaluna, director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, identified one of the slain suspects as Johnrick Amoncio alias Alay, who was included in the drug watchlist of the City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM). The other fatality is still unidentified.

Lieutenant Colonel Orlando Castil Jr., chief of police of the City of San Jose Del Monte, said a shootout ensued between anti-drugs operatives and the suspects during a buy-bust operation at about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.

“After a consummated drug deal, the suspect and his cohort engaged (the government operatives) in a shootout while trying to elude arrest that resulted to their neutralization,” Castil said.

Recovered from the crime scene were two caliber .38 revolvers used by the suspects, an improvised shotgun and four heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu.

Bersaluna also said that police operatives of Bocaue, Santa Maria, Balagtas, San Jose Del Monte and Meycauayan City conducted separate anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 15 suspects.

He identified them as Manuel Burgos, Allan Pangan, Manilyn Antonio, John Paul Nicolas, Jerwin Castro, Nelson Vicente, Jay-R Abalde, Roderick Garcia, Julio Tan, Terence Taniel Tan, Noel Zuñiga, Ernie Llorente, Nonilo Moraga, Richard Banal and Michael Novelo.

A total of 21 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, and buy-bust money were confiscated from the suspects.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination while criminal complaints for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are now being prepared for filing in court against them.
