MANILA -- Co-working space provider, KMC Solutions, is eyeing to expand its operations outside Metro Manila amid strong demand for office spaces among business firms in the country.

KMC Solutions has partnered with private equity firm, ASEAN Industrial Growth Fund (AIGF), to finance its expansion plans.

“The CBDs (central business districts) have a lot of congestion, which gives the need for co-living spaces. What we are trying to do now is to catch up with the demand and also expand outside the CBD so we are looking at spaces or actually developing spaces in Clark, Pampanga, Iloilo, Cebu, and outside our Makati-BGC. I think there is still a lot of demand for office space,” Amanda Rufino-Carpo, legal counsel and co-founder of KMC, said in a press briefing held in Makati City on Wednesday.

The demand for co-working spaces was driven by multinational firms, mostly from the business process outsourcing industry that has set up their business operations in the Philippines.

“The country has a sweet spot in terms of growth. We see businesses grow, whether they are coming from back offices or looking at the Philippines as a market. Multinational firms are drawn here by the talent of our workforce,” Carpo noted.

KMC intends to expand from about 57,151 square meters and 10,367 seats to 77,236 square meters and 14,229 seats by the end of this year.

AGIF has committed to invest about USD1 million per floor for the company’s expansion.

KMC plans to open up office spaces in the following areas within the year:

Clark, Pampanga - 2,400 square meters;

Cebu City, Cebu - 4,900 square meters;

Iloilo City - 1,200 square meters;

Ortigas, Pasig City - 1,535 square meters;

Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City - 10,150 square meters; and

Pasay City - to be announced.

Aside from flexible working spaces, KMC provides other services, including managed business services, such as human resources and payroll management, business continuity planning, and virtual offices. (PNA)
