CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga -- The Consuelo Bridge in Floridablanca town, which was damaged by the 6.1-magnitude earthquake, is now open to all types of vehicles.

This was announced on Wednesday by District Engineer Gregorio Audea of Pampanga's 2nd District Engineering Office.

Meanwhile, the East Lateral Megadike Road in Barangays Maliwalo and Dolores in Bacolor town is now passable but only to light vehicles.

District Engineer Almer Miranda of Pampanga's 1st District Engineering Office led his maintenance crew and other field engineers to institute quick after-embankment and crack sealing after it incurred damage as a result of the tremor.

There is one section of the Sasmuan-Lubao Road in Lubao still closed to all types of vehicles.

On Tuesday, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar ordered the immediate repair of earthquake-damaged roads and other infrastructures in the region.

Villar arrived in Pampanga to personally see the extent of damages caused by the tremor and instructed DPWH-3 (Central Luzon) Director Roseller Tolentino to conduct rapid assessment in the affected areas.

The DPWH immediately deployed teams to assess the structural integrity and damages in key infrastructures in the region after the tremor. (PNA)
