CEBU CITY – A farmers’ group leader here has claimed the strafing incident at her house in a mountain village of Sudlon 1 by unidentified men last Saturday night was meant to harass her in relation to the May 13 election.

Amor Cabiles, 45, who also heads the village’s coordinating office for the office of the mayor in this city called Barangay Mayor’s Office (BMO), narrated to media on Sunday that four persons on board two motorcycles arrived at her place at around 11:30 p.m. on May 4.

One of the four alighted from the motorcycle and peppered her house with bullets, Cabiles said.

At least seven .45-caliber slugs were recovered outside Cabiles’ residence.

A radio report quoted Cabiles as saying that bullet holes were seen at her house’s concrete walls and on the ceiling made of plywood.

“Naa lagi sige’g hatod estorya nako may mga tawo moingon nga mabugha kuno ko saw a pay eleksiyon (Somebody keeps on telling me that there were people who said to them that I would get killed before the election),” Cabiles added.

In the same village, residents were shocked when a group of unidentified men arrived at the house of one Dennifer Aguilar, 33, and forced open the door and slapped her several times on the face.

Reportedly, the group fired shots in the air as they left the area.

Aguilar claimed she is the head of Sudlon 1’s Violence Against Children (VAC) office.

Both Cabiles and Aguilar further claimed they have been supporting the candidacy of the incumbent mayor in this city, Tomas Osmeña, who is running under the local party Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan. (PNA)
