MANILA -- The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. is bringing back a German signature event that will showcase at least 30 companies and organizations on May 25.

"Mabuhay Germany demonstrates our flourishing bilateral trade relations. It is also an event that brings business, culture, and food together, and celebrates our German-Philippine friendship," Bodo Goerlich, vice president of the chamber, said in an interview Thursday.

Roland Schissau, German Embassy in Manila charge d'affaires, said the event serves as a platform for Filipinos to know not only German products but also its culture.

"It's not just where you could get information. In the end, it's also a chance to experience how Germans celebrate, with the beer, the sausage, etc. You could see that Germans can laugh and join Filipinos in karaoke. It's a people-to-people event," he said.

The event, with the theme "New Heights", will take place at the Bonifacio High Street Central on May 25-26, and will exhibit an array of German goods, services, innovation, and technology.

At the main stage, the chamber said there will be a nine-hour presentation featuring insightful talks, as well as the "Jump Start", a start-up pitching competition. (PNA)
