MANILA -- Maxus Philippines expects to double or even triple its sales volume next year, as it introduced to the Philippine market its flagship models of multipurpose vehicles (MPV) and vans.

“We have a modest target this year. Because it's only six months, we’re looking at about 500, 600 units. But we plan to double or triple that by next year with new product offerings,” Maxus Philippines General Manager Reginald See told reporters on the sidelines of the launching of these models.

The industrial technology arm of Ayala Corp., AC Industrials, launched Wednesday night Maxus Philippines and flagship models the G10 family MPV, and the V80 Comfort, Flex and transport vans.

See said these models will be available in the market Thursday, noting the company has established its first showroom and aftersales facilities in Greenfield district in Mandaluyong City.

It will also set-up dealership networks at ASEANA Manila Bay area in Paranaque, Quezon Avenue in Quezon City, and Cebu in the Visayas region, he said.

“Soon, we will also be appointing other dealers across the country,” he added. “We see a very great potential in the commercial vehicle market that's why with our brand portfolio under the AC Motors Group, this I think will complement all the product lineup that we have.”

See was optimistic the demand for passenger and commercial vehicles in the country would increase along with the growth of the whole industry at 8 to 10 percent.

“It's the segment where the volume is,” he added.

See also bared they will come up with two or three more products next year.

Maxus Philippines is the sixth automotive brand partner under AC Industrials, through its automotive distribution and retail group AC Motors, after Honda, Isuzu, Volkswagen, Kia and KTM. (PNA)
