Hospital worker nabbed for selling 'shabu'

DUMAGUETE CITY -- Police anti-illegal drug operatives arrested late Wednesday evening a utility worker at Governor William “Billy” Villegas Memorial Hospital in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental for selling suspected shabu to an undercover operative.

A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) identified the suspect as Dominador Seguera Antique, Jr., 39, married, and arrested at 11:30 p.m. at Sitio Tuway, Barangay P. Zamora in Guihulngan City.

The suspect is included in the police’s watch list of suspected drug personalities.

Recovered from his possession included a medium-sized transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu granules and four small sachets of transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of four grams and an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of PHP 27,200.

Also confiscated from the suspect was a PHP500 marked bill used in the buy-bust, a lighter, an improvised tooter, tin foil, mobile phone, five pieces of PHP1,000 bill and other items.

The suspect is now detained pending the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (PNA)
