MANILA -- An exit door at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 was forced open on Friday afternoon, and passengers waited for 41 minutes to finally get off to the arrival concourse.

According to the Manila International Authority (MIAA), the exit door at NAIA Terminal 3's Gate 108 failed to open. The incident affected a Cebu Pacific (CEB) flight from Bangkok.

"It took 41 minutes, from the time the plane was on blocks. The door was forced open," CEB spokesperson Charo Lagamon told the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

Shortly before 6 p.m., the MIAA issued a statement, apologizing to the affected passengers.

The management claimed it was an isolated case, and that all exit doors are checked and tested daily.

Prior to the incident, eight flights used Gate 108 "with no problem noted", the MIAA added. (PNA)
