CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- Six suspected drug peddlers, including a female, were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in this province, resulting in the confiscation of some PHP4.4 million worth of shabu on Wednesday.

Col. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said some PHP4.159 million worth of shabu were seized in Baliwag town and another PHP250,000 in Pulilan town.

Bersaluna identified the three suspects arrested in the buy-bust operation conducted in Baliwag at around 4 a.m. as Jhon Peter Cruz, 20; Melchor Fernando, 41, both residents of Barangay Poblacion and included in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council watch list; and Raffy Ann Denully, 19, from Barangay Bagong Nayon, all in Baliwag town.

Seized from the suspects were one red belt bag with 10 small sachets of suspected shabu, two large transparent plastic of suspected shabu weighing approximately 611.75 grams with estimated Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of PHP4,159,900 and the marked money.

"The suspect John Peter Cruz and his cohorts are the source of illegal drugs in the said place and adjacent municipalities," Bersaluna said.

Likewise, he identified the three other suspected drug pushers collared in another buy-bust operation conducted by Pulilan town police at about 5 a.m. as Jhamiter Trinidad, 29; Matthew Mangalile, both residents of Baliwag town; and Ariane Claire Jose, 22, presently residing in Pulilan town.

“Aside from the one plastic sachet containing shabu that was bought by the poseur buyer from the suspects, 44 plastic sachets containing similar substance with estimated value of PHP250,000 were seized from the possession of the suspects as well as the buy-bust money,” Bersaluna added.

The suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office in City of Malolos for examination.

"Appropriate criminal case is being readied for filing before the Office of Provincial Prosecutors' Office in Malolos City," Bersaluna said. (PNA)
