ILIGAN CITY — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) here has about 40,000 to 50,000 license cards pending issuance to date due to limited allocations from the LTO Central Office, its district office revealed on Saturday.

Monadatu Magadang, chief of LTO Iligan District Office, said "the last 2,000 available license card remaining in April were completely issued two weeks ago and we are still waiting for the next allocation from Central Office."

"Our recent production output released was placed at 250 pieces of license cards per day. The availability of supply is beyond our control since the supply of license card came from the LTO Central Office. However, those clients who would like to avail license card can still proceed in the processing and picture taking while waiting for the supply to arrive. As soon as the cards are available, we will give priority to the existing backlogs," he said.

Magadang said in a conference in Region 10 last week attended by LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante and representatives of the license card supplier, German firm Dermalog Identification Systems, the agency's Central Office was asked to place the orders ahead of time since the cards will be produced in Germany.

"In our request of 20,000 pieces of license card from central office, we only received 2,000 pieces," he said. (PNA)
