MANILA -- A Sri Lankan swimming instructor who coerced his Filipina wife into videotaping their intimate moments and have the footage sold online has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Mohamed Shafri Razeek was presented Monday to newsmen at the NBI office in Manila.
Razeek was arrested on July 12 and brought for inquest proceedings before the Office of the City Prosecutor of San Jose del Monte for violation of Republic Act 9262 (Violence Against Women and Children Act) and Republic Act 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
The victim claims her husband would force her to perform sexual acts while he records it using a mobile phone.
He would then upload it to a website where viewers abroad can view the same in exchange for a fee amounting from PHP1,000 to PHP2,000.
The victim subsequently discovered that the videos were also available locally and had in fact been seen by some of her friends.
Seized by the NBI International Operations Division from Razeek were a mobile phone charger, a broadband transmitter and two adult toys. (PNA)
