CARMONA, Cavite — Stallion Laguna inched closer to the Philippines Football League leaderboard with a 1-0 win against Mendiola on Saturday at the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) National Training Center here.
Abou Sy won it for Stallion Laguna as the club prevailed against a tougher Mendiola defensive line led by new signings Ricki Sendra, Soul Ndepe, and goalie Dini Outtara.
Sy drilled an 80th minute goal that turned out to be the lone goal of the match.
Stallion Laguna scored its 17th point of the season, just two behind Top 2 Ceres Negros and Kaya Iloilo.
Mendiola, on the other hand, remains stuck at four points.
Ceres Negros has a chance to tighten its hold of the lead when it takes on Green Archers United at the said venue on Sunday. (PNA)
