MANILA -- President Rodrigo Duterte has named former Davao City administrator and presidential adviser Wendel Avisado as the new acting secretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
In a text message to reporters on Monday, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea confirmed that Avisado was appointed DBM chief.
Avisado will replace DBM officer-in-charge Janet Abuel, who got the post after former DBM chief Benjamin Diokno was appointed as Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
Avisado was city administrator during Duterte’s term as mayor of Davao City.
He was also assigned by the Chief Executive to oversee post-Yolanda rehabilitation efforts. (PNA)
