ZAMBOANGA CITY--Authorities seized some PHP442,000 worth of suspected shabu and nabbed three people in separate anti-drug operations in Region 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula), an official said Tuesday.

Lawyer Jacquelyn de Guzman, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-9) director, identified the arrested drug suspects as Hamid Araham, 47; Nedzfar Sarahadil, 30; and, Ramil Muksin, who carries the aliases of Bramil Hassim and Bramin Hassim.

De Guzman said Araham and Sarahadil were caught in possession of some 50 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP340,000 when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:35 p.m. Sunday in Barangay Tubig Boh, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

Also confiscated from the possession of the two were PHP500 marked money, PHP3,040 cash, cellular phones, and illegal drug paraphernalia.

De Guzman said Muksin, considered as a number one drug personality, was arrested last weekend in a buy-bust operation in front of a school in Barangay Fatima, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

Seized from Muksin were some 15 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP102,000, cellular phone, and PHP1,000 marked money, she said.

The PDEA-9 chief said the separate anti-drug operations were carried out with the support of soldiers and policemen.

She added the suspects were detained pending the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
