PAL, CebuPac cancel Manila-Japan flights due to typhoon 'Krosa'

MANILA -- Local carriers Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific (CEB) on Thursday cancelled flights between Manila and Japan due to Severe Tropical Storm "Krosa" (international name). 

As of 1:30 p.m., the cancelled flights were: PR 408 Manila-Kansai, PR 438 Manila-Nagoya, PR 411/412 Kansai-Manila-Kansai, 5J 828/827 Manila-Kansai-Manila, and 5J 5038/5039 Manila-Nagoya-Manila.
 
A report from the Japan Times said "Krosa" is expected to make landfall in Kyushu on Thursday.
 
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) forecast "Krosa" to dump about 1,200 mm. of rain over the eastern and western areas.
 
It also warned that landslides were possible, particularly in Nara, Oita, Ehime and Tokushima prefectures. (PNA)
