MANILA -- Cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the archipelago due to southwest monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. forecast, PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza said there is a low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility at 2,195 kilometers east of Visayas.

Mendoza added the track of the LPA affecting Mindanao will bring scattered rain showers in the island.

PAGASA warned the public against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Light to strong winds will blow all over the country while coastal waters along all areas will be slight to moderate.

The minimum temperature for the day is 26.1°C while the maximum temperature is at 36°C, PAGASA said. (PNA)
