LINGAYEN, Pangasinan -- Some 600 Pangasinense youths have applied online for the Philippine Military Academy's (PMA) nationwide simultaneous entrance examination slated for August 25 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) here.

Maj. Vergel Lalangan, PMA Center for Leadership and Excellence assistant director, said they are still accepting applications from young people even from neighboring provinces.

“We will be processing applications of those who wanted to take the entrance exam on August 22-24 or even on August 25 before the exam starts at NRSCC,” Lalangan said during the Pangasinan in Action forum Tuesday.

He noted that the PMA aims to recruit the best and the brightest youths to be part of the military.

Lalangan said applicants should be at least 17 years old and a day older than 22 years old on June 1, 2020; should be at least senior high school students with 85 percent grade point average; and no administrative or criminal charges.

Grade 12 students may apply, provided that they will graduate from Senior High School before June 2 next year, he said.

“The exam will cover algebra, basic statistics, geometry, grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and numerical and pattern analysis. There will also be limited physical review on the applicants,” he added.

The provincial government of Pangasinan will provide free transportation to the examinees from Eastern, Central, and Western part of the province. (PNA)
