Licup named new PNP acting head of operations

MANILA -- Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Gen. Oscar Albayalde, on Thursday named Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Luis Licup as acting director for operations.

Licup replaces Maj. Gen. Mao Aplasca who retired from the service.

He was erstwhile deputy director of the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM).

As director for operations, Licup will assist Albayalde in supervising and directing police operations, organization, employment, and deployment of police personnel, and public safety training of the PNP.

Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin replaces Licup as the deputy director of the DPRM.

Other senior officers designated to new posts were Brig. Gen. Adolfo Samala Jr. who was named deputy director of the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD).

Meanwhile, Col. Rolando Miranda was named acting executive officer of the DHRDD, while Col. Robert Rodriguez was designated as acting executive officer of the DPRM. (PNA)
