MANILA -- Tropical Storm Ineng will cause rains and gusty winds over parts of Luzon, and stormy weather over Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands, the weather bureau said on Friday afternoon.

Rains with gusty winds will prevail over Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, and Ilocos Norte, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

All these areas may also experience flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains, it added.

"Ineng" was last eyed 390 km. east of Calayan, Cagayan, heading west northwest at 25 kph, with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon affecting the western part of Luzon and Visayas will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon and the Visayas.

Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds will blow over Luzon, the Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Light to moderate winds will prevail over the rest of Mindanao with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
