CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga -- Afternoon classes in this province and other areas in Central Luzon were suspended on Monday due to continuous heavy to moderate rains affecting the region.

Governor Dennis Pineda declared the suspension of classes in all levels, both in public and private schools, in the entire Pampanga as he advised his constituents to keep safe.

"Mga kabataan, dahil sa patuloy na paglakas ng ulan, classes are suspended in all levels (both private and public) starting 1 p.m., Sept 9, 2019. Umuwi na kayo at tumulong sa gawaing bahay. Keep safe everyone (To the youth, due to continuous heavy rains, classes are suspended in all levels both in private and public starting at 1 p.m. Sept. 9, 2019. Go home and help in the household chores. Keep safe everyone)," Pineda said in his social media account.

Likewise, Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. suspended afternoon classes in all levels, both in public and private schools, in Angeles City.

Aside from Pampanga, the provincial government of Tarlac also suspended the afternoon classes from pre-elementary to senior high school levels in both public and private schools.

Tarlac Governor Susan Yap, in her memorandum, said the suspension of classes in the college level, as well as the suspension of work in government offices and agencies, is upon the discretion of the school administrators or local chief executives depending on the current weather condition in their respective areas.
