MANILA -- Equalivet Pasig claimed the championship of the fourth leg of the Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas 3x3 Magiting Cup after beating rival Balanga in the final, 21-18, on Sunday at the SM BF Parañaque Events Center.

Dylan Ababou scored back-to-back two-pointers that broke a 16-all deadlock, while Leo de Vera sealed the win for Pasig, with the dagger free throw, with 52.6 seconds to spare as the club withstood Balanga's comeback from 5-11 down.

Joshua Munzon, who sparked Pasig's early blitz that led to the 11-5 cushion, led the team with 12 points, while Ababou added four, all coming from the clutch deuces.

De Vera only got three points, but his free throw for the finish mattered the most.

JR Alabanza scored Pasig's other two points as his size turned out to be a nightmare for the small Balanga squad.

Aside from the PHP100,000 cash prize, Pasig also booked a spot in the FIBA 3x3 Kaohsiung Challenger this weekend.

Chris de Chavez put up six points for Balanga, which settled for the PHP50,000 second place money.

However, Balanga still holds a 20-point lead over Pasig ahead of the grand finals at the SM Megamall Events Center in Mandaluyong City on Friday. (PNA)
