Davao PNP units get mobile patrol vehicles, equipment

DAVAO CITY -- Davao Region's five Provincial Police Offices (PPOs) received patrol vehicles and other mobility assets on Monday as part of the Police Regional Office's (PRO-11) continuous upgrading and modernization of operational capabilities.

During a ceremony at the PRO-11 headquarters here, PPOs also received armored vests, Kevlar helmets, and Galil rifles.

Brig. Gen. Marcelo Morales, PRO-11 director, said the vehicles and equipment seek to "add an impact to the efficiency in giving premium service to the community."

“This newly acquired equipment will strengthen police operations in maintaining peace and order especially that the Philippine National Police (PNP) is now pursuing its relentless drive against criminality, terrorism, and illegal drugs,” Morales said.

During the turnover ceremony, Morales also conferred awards to PRO-11 personnel in the field of logistics for the second quarter of the year.

The awardees are: Maj. Constancio Lampitok Jr., Best Police Commissioned Officer; M/Sgt. Benjie Lisondato, Best Responsible Supply Police Non-Commissioned Officer; and M/Sgt. Glenn Calimbo, Best Police Non-Commissioned Officer.

Also awarded were: Non-uniformed personnel (NUP) Phyllis Fey S. Peralta, Best Supply Accountable Officer, and NUP Ritche Alog, Best NUP.

"Let me just congratulate our logistics officers for the recognition they have received today because I know that you truly deserve to be given one. Moreover, I am looking forward that the outcome of all of these will center our dedication to service and love for the country," Morales said. (PNA)
