Aurora police units, personnel cited for efficiency

BALER, Aurora -- The Aurora Police Provincial Office (APPO) on Tuesday honored deserving police units and personnel in this province for their exemplary dedication to duty and efficient performance as law enforcers.

The awarding was part of the 118th Police Service Anniversary celebration which carried the theme, “Pinaghusay na Serbisyo, Alay sa Sambayanang Pilipino.”

Police Lt. Col. Julius Ceazar A. Manucdoc, Deputy Provincial Director for Operations of APPO, led the awarding ceremony held at Camp Captain Victor Ravina, Barangay Sabang in this capital town of Aurora province.

The event also coincided with the 31st death anniversary of Captain Victor Ravina, who was killed in action during an armed encounter with New People’s Army (NPA) members on Sept. 11, 1988 in Sitio Pulo, Barangay Zarah, San Luis town, this province.

“This event signifies our respect, our admiration, our acknowledgement of the ultimate sacrifice of the late Captain as we commemorate his 31st year death anniversary. We acknowledge his courage and bravery. We recognize and hold in high esteem the character of Captain Ravina and his duty that brought to his death,” Manucdoc said.

Meanwhile, he said that “selected police personnel and units with outstanding performance in administration and operations were cited as reward for the services they have rendered”.

The police unit awardees were the Maria Aurora Municipal Police Station as best municipal police station, and the Aurora 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company as best mobile force company.

The individual awardees were Lt. Col. Manucdoc as best Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) for administration; Lt. Col. Reynante D. Pitpitan as Best Senior PCO for Operation; Major Rhoderick J. Bagunu as Best Junior PCO for administration; Major Bartolome A. Antolin as Best Junior PCO for operation;

Senior Master Sergeant Marnelly R. Amatorio as Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) for administration; Chief Master Sergeant Angelo N. Gawat as Best Senior PNCO for operation; Staff Sergeant Vinzon M. Guttierez as Best Junior PNCO for Administration; Corporal Shiela Mae A. Columna as Best Junior PNCO for operation and Dennis M. Nalupa and Meena Q. Sindac as Best Non-Uniformed Personnel.

Meanwhile, Major General Cesar Hawthorne Rivera Binag, who served as guest of honor and speaker, said it is a rare privilege and great honor to be part of the event not only to celebrate the 118th Police Service Anniversary but also commemorate the death anniversary of his mistah, the late Captain Ravina.

“This police provincial office will forever bear the reflection of the sacrifices of Ravina that gave honor and pride to the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) particularly class of 87 and his families,” Binag said. (PNA)
