MANILA -- Most parts of the country will experience isolated rain showers on Friday, the weather bureau said.

Batanes and Cagayan will have cloudy skies with light rains caused by the northeasterly surface windflow, while Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, tropical depression "Perla" was last eyed at 840 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan, heading north northwest at 15 kph.

It has a maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Moderate to strong winds will blow over Luzon and Visayas, where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Over Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
