TS 'Ramon' brings moderate to heavy rains Thursday

MANILA -- Tropical storm "Ramon" (international name Kalmaegi) slows down as it moves in the west northwest direction Thursday.

In its severe weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that at 4 a.m., the center of Ramon was at 355 kilometers east of Legazpi City, Albay.

Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains will be experienced over Bicol Region and the eastern portions of Isabela and Cagayan.

It is moving west northwest at 10 kms per hour with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Tropical cyclone wind signal no. 2 is hoisted over Catanduanes province while TCWS no. 1 is up in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, and Northern Samar.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 23-29 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 21-28 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 14-19 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-32 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 25-33 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
