LEGAZPI CITY -- A total of 334 uniformed personnel of the Police Regional Office-5 (Bicol) have been promoted to the next higher rank.

They received their new ranks in an oath-taking and pinning of rank ceremony on Monday in front of the PRO5 Grandstand at Camp BGen. Simeon A. Ola here.

In an interview, Maj. Malu Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesperson, said out of the 334 promoted Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, 17 are Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) and 317 are Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs).

"From the 317 PNCOs, 42 from the National Support Unit were also promoted," she added.

PRO-5 Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Col. Domingo R. Lucas administered the oath-taking of the newly-promoted PNP personnel.

“This promotion is recognition and a reward for your years of service which have in no small measure contributed in making Police Regional Office 5 one of the best performing PROs in the country.” Lucas said in his delivered message.

He added that the greatest reward police officers can receive is the gratitude of the people they serve and protect, "knowing that we are part of a greater, nobler undertaking in making our communities safe for all". (PNA)
