LIMAY, Bataan --The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) provincial station announced here on Monday that it is ready for Typhoon "Tisoy" (Kammuri) as the province was placed under Signal No. 2.

Nakahanda ang puwersa ng Coast Guard - Bataan sa bagyong Tisoy. Handa na deployment ng mga tropa sa Mariveles, Morong at Lamao sa Bataan at Corregidor (Cavite) (The forces of the Coast Guard-Bataan is ready for typhoon Tisoy. The deployment of troops in Mariveles, Morong and Lamao in Bataan and Corregidor (Cavite) is ready,” said Commander Airland Lapitan, chief of the PCG–Bataan station in Barangay Lamao, Limay.

He said they have four deployable response groups and two backup teams that will be deployed in case the four teams need augmentation.

Lapitan showed lifesaving equipment for use of the provincial station like life jackets, life rings, flashlight, megaphone, handheld radios, hard hats and medical kits.

He said Coast Guard sub-stations in Mariveles, Morong and Corregidor in Cavite also have the same life-saving gears.

He said a dump truck, two vans, and an aluminum boat are on stand-by for any eventuality.

“We are ready,” the Coast Guard provincial commander said.

He also called on all fishermen in the province not to venture out into the sea for fishing.

Huwag na muna kayog lumaot kasi napakahirap na baka biglang may mangyari sa inyong masama dahil sa masamang panahon. Alalahanin ninyo ang inyong mahal sa buhay na naghihintay para sa inyo (Do not go out for fishing. It is very hard because something might happen due to bad weather. Remember your loved ones who are waiting for you),” he said.

Meanwhile, classes in all levels, both public and private in the whole province, were cancelled at 12 noon. In the morning, only classes in pre-school were suspended. (PNA)
