16 flights in Mactan airport canceled due to ‘Tisoy’

CEBU CITY – The Mactan-Cebu International Airport on Monday canceled 16 domestic flights due to the looming onslaught of Typhoon "Tisoy" (international name Kammuri).

The airport management started issuing public advisory on the cancellation of flights past 9 a.m. as the typhoon moves closer to Bicol and Samar-Leyte regions.

Avigael Ratcliffe, corporate communications junior manager of GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation, said the flights affected by the typhoon were bound for or originated from Legaspi, Tacloban, and Siargao.

In its 11:30 a.m. advisory, the airport management advised the cancellation of the Philippine Airlines flights PR 2236 CEB-TAC (8:30 a.m.), PR 2237 TAC-CEB (9:45 a.m.), PR 2374 CEB-IAO (11:40 a.m.), PR 2375 IAO-CEB (1:00 p.m.), PR 2382 CEB-IAO (2:30 p.m.), PR 2383 IAO-CEB (3:50 p.m.), PR 2927 CEB-LGP (4:50 p.m.), PR 2928 LGP-CEB (6:20 p.m.), PR 2238 CEB-TAC (5:30 p.m.), and PR 2239 TAC-CEB (6:45 p.m.).

In the same advisory, the CEBGo flights cancelled due to inclement weather were DG 6571 CEB-TAC (4:40 a.m.), DG 6572 TAC-CEB (6:00 a.m.), DG 6851 CEB-IAO (7:25 a.m.), DG 6852 IAO-CEB (8:55 a.m.), DG 6577 CEB-TAC (4:10 p.m.), and DG 6578 TAC-CEB (5:30 p.m.).

Ratcliffe, however, said in that there were no additional canceled flights as of 2:30 p.m. Monday. (PNA)
