DAVAO CITY -- The city government of Mati in Davao Oriental will give huge bonuses for regular, co-terminus, contractual, and job order employees, Mayor Michelle Rabat said on Monday.

Rabat announced during Monday’s flag ceremony that aside from the usual 13th-month pay that the employees had already received several weeks ago, all personnel will also receive Christmas bonuses of PHP15,000 for regular and PHP10,000 for the job orders on Friday (December 6).

Rabat added that city employees are also set to receive their Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) incentive of PHP25,000 on December 15.

“We are also working out on another possible bonus after Christmas which will be sourced from the savings of the City Government from this year’s budget,” she added.

The city government has 390 regular employees, 36 co-terminus, 35 casuals, 15 elected officials, and about 1,843 job order employees.

Meanwhile, Rabat will open on Tuesday (December 3) the "Krismasayahan sa 2019" and the newly-rehabilitated Mati Pylon.

She said the improved City of Mati Obelisk, popularly known as Pylon, which symbolizes the people’s faith in a responsive government, will be opened on the said day as well as the lighting of the giant Christmas tree at the FGR Mati Park and Baywalk.

A known landmark in the city, the Pylon was designed by the First Filipino National Artist for Architecture Juan Felipe de Jesus Nakpil in 1979. The improvement of Pylon started on October 1 and costs about PHP3 million. (PNA)
