Top PNP performing units in Caraga cited

BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office in Caraga Region (PRO-13) recognized on Monday (December 3) top-performing units in the field of law enforcement and peace and order campaigns.

In a ceremony led by Brig. Gen. Joselito Esquivel Jr., PRO-13 director, the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (SDSPPO) was named the best-performing unit after leading on points as a top performer across all categories, including the enforcement of special laws from Sept. 16, 2019 to Oct. 31, 2019.

SDSPPO also received a Plaque for Project Double Barrel in its campaign against illegal gambling, illegal fishing and the confiscation of endangered species of birds and animals in its checkpoint operations.

The Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) placed the second, including a citation on its successful campaign against loose firearms, as well as recognition from Project OSCAR-internal cleansing and named the best unit in Information Operation.

The Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDNPPO) ranked third as the best performing unit in Caraga.

The PRO-13 also recognized the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) as the best performing unit in its campaign against wanted persons while the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 13 was named the best unit in its Information Operation via social media.

Other units recognized on Monday included the Regional Finance Service Office (RFSO-13) and the Regional Comptroller Division that topped the First Semester 2019 Unit Performing Evaluation Rating (UPER); the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division for topping the First Quarter 2019 UPER; the Regional Internal Affairs Service (RIAS-13) that topped the Third Quarter UPER; and the Regional Community Affairs Development Division for topping the Social Media Analytics.

A special award was also given to the PRO-13 Regional Public Information Office for its media campaigns; the Regional Intelligence Division (R2) for the implementation of search warrant to communist personalities and the arrest of the members of criminal group (Ondo Perez Group); and to the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) for the arrest of wanted persons and the top 1 regional most wanted person.

The PRO-13 also presented a plaque of appreciation to village captain Melchor Salburo of Barangay Tungao, Butuan City, for donating a parcel of land with a total area of 9.8752 hectares in the area.

Esquivel said a portion of the donated land will be allocated for the construction of the PNP Regional Mobile Force Battalion. (PNA)
