DAVAO CITY -- Former World Boxing Association Interim World bantamweight champion Reymart "Assassin" Gaballo of General Santos City will face tough former World Boxing Council Youth bantam titlist Chaiwat Buatkrathok of Thailand on Dec. 14 at the Elorde Ballroom in Parañaque City.

The undefeated Gaballo (22W-0L, 19KO) has been in a two-knockout winning streak this year. He started with a technical knockout over Yuya Nakamura of Japan in the 2nd round at Pasay City last Feb. 9. Gaballo then TKO'd Yeison Vargas of Colombia in the 3rd round last Aug. 31 in the USA.

Buatkrathok, on the other hand, has 32 wins with 20 knockouts against two setbacks.

The 27-year-old southpaw, however, lost to Olimjon Nazarov of Uzbekistan by a unanimous decision last Nov. 13 in Vietnam.

Gaballo wants to put on a show to step closer toward a title fight.

“I badly want to fight for a world title with the top bantamweights out there. I need to put on a good show. I’ve been working so hard in the gym and will not disappoint on fight night”, said Gaballo.

Sanman CEO Jim Claude Manangquil wants to make sure Gaballo is ready for the topnotch challenges.

“We want to see Reymart fight some more serious opponents and see where we can go from there. We are thankful for the opportunities that our partners MP promotions, Sean Gibbons and PBC. We just want to make sure he is ripe enough for a world title”, Manangquil said. (PNA)
