KAWIT, Cavite -- The Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), managed by the Road Infrastructure Arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation with its subsidiary Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), will start implementing its counterflow scheme along the Zeus Interchange every Monday, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., effective December 16.
In an interview with PNA on Wednesday, CIC corporate communications senior associate Mhanny Agusto said a portion of the Centennial Road going to Tirona Highway, specifically its leftmost part will be allocated to vehicles going to the direction of the Kawit Toll Plaza.
The counterflow scheme is implemented to "help decongest the intersection going to Manila, especially on Monday," he said.
CIC is implementing the scheme on the request of the local government unit and its local traffic board.
A thorough study and series of discussions were done prior to its implementation, Agusto said.
To guide the motorists plying on opposite directions, CIC also released its suggested re-routing plans.
Vehicles coming from CAVITEX to Kawit/Tirona Highway/Centennial Road may take Marulas exit if going to Kawit and Tirona Highway or the Zeus Exit if going to Centennial Road.
Those coming from Centennial Road to CAVITEX may opt to take the counterflow lane through Zeus interchange or choose the usual route via Covelandia Road.
CIC assures the presence of on-ground traffic personnel on-site to ensure a safe and smooth trip for all motorists. (PNA)
