MANILA -- More than 200 Filipinos from Doha and Riyadh were given simple treats upon their arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Thursday.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Smart have teamed up for this surprise, wherein the said passengers received a gift bag, and were treated with performances from Regine Velasquez and Ballet Manila.

The two firms have also launched partnership to provide arriving tourists with sim cards which are pre-loaded with 1 GB of open-access data, unlimited texts, and unlimited calls to Smart, TNT and Sun subscribers, valid for one day.

In-flight vouchers for this kind of sim card can be claimed these at the Smart booths located at the airports' arrival area.

According to PAL, holders of this sim card can look forward to exclusive seat sales and other promos, as well as free access to PAL’s hotline, website and app.

“With this agreement, our friends from other countries who are visiting our islands can share their travel experiences while on-the-go using the 'Smart PAL Travel SIM' on the Smart LTE network that we have put in place across the country,” said Alfredo Panlilio, Smart president, in a statement.
