MANILA – The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) will hold a travel expo next month, offering up to 70 percent discount on travel products and services.

In a press conference on Friday, PTAA president Ritchie Tuaño said the PTAA slated the 5th International Travel Trade Expo 2020 from February 2 to 4 while the 27th Travel Tour Expo will be held on February 7 to 9. Both will be held at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

The International Travel Trade Expo is a business-to-business event, while the Travel Tour Expo is business to consumer.

The expo will feature 1,000 booths from more than 400 exhibitors from the travel agency and tourism enterprise industry. They are expected to give discounts of up to 70 percent on cruise lines, hotels, theme parks, and airline fares for both group and solo travel.

For the internal travel expo, sellers from these countries will participate in the event: Australia, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Czech Republic, Dubai, France, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Israel, Istanbul, Japan, South Korea, Myanmar, North America, Sarajevo, Singapore, Spain, Tanzania, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam.

“International travel has also become affordable, thus we expect not only millennials but also professionals to be active tourists,” Tuaño said.

PTAA executive vice president Jhaytee Wong noted that this year’s travel expo is bigger with the rising number of travelers in the country, exploring both domestic and international destinations.

Wong, who also heads the International Travel Trade Expo 2020, noted that the expo has increased the new destinations to offer to customers.

The PTAA travel expo is the country’s largest annual expo on travel and tours, expecting more than 100,000 visitors. (PNA)
