2 weather systems bring rains Thursday

MANILA -- The northeast monsoon (amihan) and the tail-end of a cold front will continue to bring rains in most parts of the country Thursday.

In its 4 a.m. weather report, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Sorsogon, Masbate and Samar provinces due to the tail-end of a cold front affecting eastern Visayas.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora and Quezon and the rest of Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Batangas and Cavite will have cloudy skies with isolated rains.

PAGASA said isolated thunderstorms in the vicinity of Taal Volcano is possible, with reduced visibility during ashfall.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Metro Manila's weather ranges from 22-31 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 20-28 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 13-23 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-31 degrees Celsius and Metro Davao 26-33 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
