Baltazar goes for 20-20 in NBL debut to lift Pampanga over NE

MANILA -- Justine Baltazar debuted in the National Basketball League with a huge statement, dropping a 20-20 in Pampanga's 86-76 win over Nueva Ecija at the Muntinlupa Sports Center on Saturday night.

The La Salle center put up 26 points and 23 rebounds to power the Delta to the huge win against the Bespren to go up to 3-1 in Group B play of the ongoing President's Cup of the new league. 

Fellow Green Archer Encho Serrano added 17 points, while CJ Gania chipped in 15.

Isaiah Cabiga led Nueva Ecija with 18 markers.

In the nightcap, Muntinlupa barged into the win column with an 84-79 home victory against Pasig.

Danny Diocampo made two huge baskets down the stretch to keep the Emeralds in control over the El Pirata.

Arnold Danga paced Muntinlupa, which snapped a three-game slide to start the conference and tied its victim at 1-3, with 19 points and six rebounds.

Diocampo added 12 points and seven rebounds, while John Abis tallied a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Vitorio Vergara had 16 markers for Pasig. (PNA)
