CALASIAO, Pangasinan -- The Double V Productions, a local producing company in Pangasinan, has assured the safety of the fans as it pushes through with the Boyce Avenue concert to be held here on Wednesday night amid the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

In an interview Tuesday, Double V’s chief executive Vijay Vasandani said thermal guns and bottles of alcohol will be set-up at the four entrances of the concert venue, while all attendees are required to wear a face mask.

“This was also requested by the guest artists. We also procured face masks to be given to those who will not be able to bring one. This is everybody’s concern. We wanted to pull off a good show but at the end of the day, we have to focus on the most important part, the health of our concert patrons. It is our duty to protect them and guest artists,” he said.

Double V Productions has earlier posted an advisory on their Facebook page, advising concert attendees to comply with the procedures upon entering the venue including temperature check, hand-sanitation, and the wearing of face masks.

The Calasiao municipal health office and the Philippine Red Cross-Pangasinan will have their respective medical stations at the concert venue.

Vasandani said they also asked the attendees to go to the venue ahead of schedule as long queue was expected with about 2,000 to 3,000 people who would be going to the concert.

He said Boyce Avenue is aware of the Covid-19 scare thus, the 30-minute “Meet-and-Greet” with the fans was canceled. Also, the number of persons allowed to go near the artists had also been limited.

Vasandani said some canceled their ticket reservations following the advisory from the Department of Health (DOH) for people to avoid crowded places.

This is the first of the series of Boyce Avenue’s concert in the country. They are also scheduled to perform in Cebu on Feb. 14, in Davao on Feb. 15, and at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Feb. 16.

This is the first time a concert by an international artist will be held in the province of Pangasinan. (PNA)
